Here's todays card......It didn't work out like I had intended it to.  I guess I didn't think far enough in advance, but it started out as a Mojo Monday sketch and I thought I would do a 5x5 inch card since it had to be round or square, but had not yet decided on what stamp to use for the sentiment.  Why did it have to be a sentiment you may ask.  It's like this.....try finding a St. Patty's day stamp that is not a shamrock..good luck of the Irish to you.  It is a much overlooked holiday in the stamping world.  OK, it's not a holiday but I still like to make cards for it.....I love green......I love the Celtic knots.....I must have a dominant Irish gene in there somewhere....although I've heard it said that the Irish don't celebrate half as much as we do, which is strange being that St. Patrick is their Patron Saint.  Anyway, after doing the  background and the little strip that goes across, I moved on to the circle part of the sketch, so far so good....then comes the sentiment.  I liked this one and I haven't used it yet so I made my decision and measured it to see how big a square I needed....oh dear.....3 inches, having come too far to quit I tried it anyway.  It's too big for the layout, it covers up the pretty Celtic knot strip and most of the border punch on the top of it.  I put it all together anyway since I had no other idea.  It's growing on me, but I know it's not right.  Let me know what you think.  I'm not going to submit this one for Mojo Monday....I'll have to make another or just pass this week... depends on what tomorrow brings!

And I don't know how I picked up the red tint, I have a little spot
I use as a backdrop to take photos of the cards and none of the rest have
a tint like this.  Guess it's not my day!

And here is the sketch, I left out the tag on the circle part because it would
have covered up part of the blessing.

Irish Blessing

Made this one today for the VLVMar2011 Challenge but I don't know how to upload it.....so I'll just post it here until I find out...Stupid me.

Another St. Patty's Day Card....had some fun making this one, stamped the saying
and it looked like it could be on a scroll, so that's what I did, made a template then cut it out
and added all the shading.  The Celtic Cross is from a set I got last year but have never
used...seemed to fit right in here!

This is a card I made for Aaron's Bday last fall, playing around with the
Thanksgiving cartridge from Cricut, and used a pumpkin die I got from Sizzix.
I just love fall colors.

Watching TJ

Didn't get to play around with the paper today, I frequently suffer from insomnia and was up late last night uploading pictures of the Valentine's so I had a few naps during the day.  This  afternoon I had a visit with my youngest Grandson, TJ which was loads of fun.  He's not yet 2 but almost there and loves to go outside.  It warmed up enough, and dried out enough that he could actually go out in the sunshine for a little while.  So he chased the ducks a little while ( I have a small herd of 8) and ran up and down the small hill which is the back yard.  He got his fill of fresh air then came back in to play with Uncle Fitz's Thomas the Train wooden set.  We had the track in a figure 8 on the coffee table and boy were those trains a movin!  Tuckered him out so he had to crawl up with Mamaw on the couch and have a little nap where he still was when Mom and Dad came back from the movies.

Although I didn't get to create anything today, I have a card I made a couple of days ago I thought I would share, a little wistful (not a misspelling!) thinking on my part of late summer days.

I started with linen cardstock, it's from a Bazzil and it came from open stock and I don't know the color, should pay more attention before I cut them up......and then added the "Lavender Rosebuds" paper by Paper Pizzaz.  Next is some white cardstock that I distressed with Ranger's Bundled Sage Ink and some lavender colored scrap paper, name and brand unknown, that I used a Recollection's border punch on both sides.  I then took a strip of white cardstock and worked in the background colors with a sponge (Ranger's Distress Inks...Tumbled glass, Wild Honey, and more Bundled Sage) and then used some assorted grass stamps, again with the Distress Inks to get that faded look in Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Bundled Sage.  Time for the focus stamp, Solidago Sprig by Rubber Stampede.  I used some Liquid Applique and made tiny dots over the dots on the flower to give it the 3D effect and colored them with Copid markers in different shades of Violet.  Then matted it on a rich brown cardstock, adhered it with Dimensional tape, added some ribbon, a bow and some pearls from Studio G.  Viola, a nice note card...Ooops forgot about the butterfly.....have to have a butterfly in there.  I took a Medium Butterfly punch from Fiskars and used it on some scrap black cardstock, folded it in half, took a smaller Butterfly stamp from Inkadinkado, colored in the wings and cut them apart and glued them to the black, positioned it on the card and added a little antennae with a black Fine Sharpie.  Sorry for boring you, but from other Blogs I think you have to get the credits in there!  Will try to simplify it in the future.

That's my offering for the day, hope you enjoy it!

Some Valentine's

I don't always get pictures of the cards I make to send, but I got these!

For Aaron

For TJ

For Brianne, she loves Fairies!  Tinkerbell is on the inside.

For Danielle, she loves purple and is kinda goth...so I gotta have black!

For Cecil, he said "No hearts" but what could I do? It's for Valentine's Day!

For Boogie Butt Fitz, a Cricut Card.

For My Honey, Dave.  I made the flower by cutting out hearts...each petal is a heart, took my a couple of hours for this one!

For Linda, one of my old DOTS stamps I just love!

For Erica, she likes Butterflies, although she is into Ladybugs now too.  Another Cricut Card

I made bunches of these, then stapled them on to goodie bags for Fitz's class.  Hate those store bought Valentine's!

Sent this one along for Fitz's teacher.

I liked the layout for Dave's so well that I did it again!  Just picked up this set with an Oriental theme, the background is stamped and then a little color added, this one I made for Brianne to give to Aaron.

For Brandon, I did another almost like it for my other grandson, Tristen, in purple, but didn't post it here.  There's that rosette again!

This was a Mojo Monday sketch, I made it for Son-in-Law, Tim.

I helped Brianne make this one for sister, Danielle, the purple and black daughter!

Here's the Oriental background again!  This is for my good friend Brenda...who is so totally unimpressed with the handmade cards, but I Love her anyway!  Another one of my old DOTS stamps.  I haven't used them in a couple of years because I just couldn't get them colored in the way I want, but I have COPIC markers now and I have fallen in love with them!

My other stuff I've made

Here's some more cards I've made,

This is a picture I took of a Pond Lily, This was for a Verve challenge but I didn't have it in a blog so I couldn't submit it.
I made this this morning for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  It's so hard to find St. Patrick's Day papers and such, even stamps.  I love the blessing stamp from Verve, and since I just got the rosette die from Sizzix I have to use it!  The little shamrock paper is from DCWV, the shamrock stamp is from Hero Arts, and I made the background paper for the rosette with a little stamp from Studio G.  I used some runner tape to make the glitter stripe and Border punch is from EK Success.  The rest is regular cardstock with the round scallops cut out with my Cricut.

My very first post, they say that blogging is going out so I guess I'm getting started kind of late.  I started this so I could enter some of my cards in the various challenges on the Verve website so lets see how this goes!
