My second Mojo card!   Just had to do a Shabby Chic with this sketch and I actually got it done in time to post!

The background paper is from the Luxury Stack from DCWV, the floral is unknown (a scrap), and the other 2 are from the Tres Chic Stack, also from DCWV.  The CS is Bazzil Basics..which I had to drive 45 miles one way to get (yes, I am a little crazy, or rather OCD) since I couldn't find the right color of green to match the floral paper.  All three matched but I couldn't decide which one to use so I used all three.  Easier than spending hours trying to make a decision.....that's why it takes me all day to make one card.  (Heavy sigh)  I will never be able to make a living at this!  Another dilemma.......not the right shade of green for the ribbon either but I didn't know that until AFTER I got back....the actual color is much closer to the mid-color green than what shows in the picture, I took some white organza ribbon and colored it with a Copic marker.  I wish I had the money to buy all the ribbon I think I need!  I also had a 50% off coupon so I used it to buy the Floral Ovals set from Spellbinders so I had to use it.....The little flowers and leaves are make with Fiskars punches, the sentiment is from Verve's Circular Sayings.  I was originally going to use the Birthday Wishes stamp from the same set but changed my mind because the words on the square piece lent itself more to the Thinking of you.  Welcome to my chaotic mind.  I finished off the bow with a small button and some hemp twine. Oh, there is some Diamond stickles in the flower centers, and I used Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I guess that about covers it all.  Hope you had a great weekend and a BIG Thank You to all the Veterans who have served for us!   I guess I will have to use tomorrow's sketch to make a Thank You card!!!!!  (Maybe) lol.

Another Mojo Monday!  Well......I actually started this on Tuesday and got pics today but who's keepin' track anyway?

I can't really give the low down on most of this.......the papers are scraps from last year, the Santa Image I downloaded and am really sorry to say that the name of the artist is nowhere to be found on the file....I really love this Santa and it's a fine piece of artwork and am really upset with myself for not jotting down the artist name somewhere so they can get credit.  Behind Santa (you can barely see it) is the round motiff from Spellbinder's Moroccan Motifs, the scroll is a Verve Stamp pared with the die to cut it out with, the word "believe" is from a set of sentiments by Fiskars.  The background is plain white CS that I overlaid with an Impressibility from Spellbinder and then sponged with gold ink from Encore.  The borders above and below the scroll are from K & Co.  The ribbon is from Offray.  Oh, and around Santa is sponged some Antique Linen Distress Ink from Ranger.  I haven't decided what to do with the inside yet....it will come to me eventually!  I want something that has to do with the magic of Christmas....Any ideas?  Anyway, good luck to all of us that post this week.....hope we win some of Verve's Gorgeous Stamps!  Holiday Blessings to All!

This card is for my nephew's newest addition.

Kind of simple, but I really love the paper in the background, it's from Heidi Grace, and didn't want to cover it up much.  I added a motif from Spellbinders, a little lace and added a rattle cut from the "Stamping" cartridge from Cricut.  I added a little 3D by cutting out some circles, folding them in half and gluing them together back to back then fanning them out and gluing them down.  The inside has a pocket for a gift card and I made a matching box to put it in.  I hope she likes it.  The invite for the shower said that she was needing only diapers, wipes and formula.......bummer, I really like to shop for baby stuff so a gift card is, for me, the best option.

Fall Bday

Here's my entry for this week....I did not exactly follow the sketch but it just wouldn't work with what I was thinking of and kind of evolved but I am submitting it anyway!

I love this tree stamp!  It's from Inkadinkado - "Fall Season".  I inked up a round with Ranger's Distress Inks...Wild Honey, Dusty Concord, and Peeled Paint for the Autumn Sky.  The frame is from Cricut's Elegant Edges.  I punched out a bunch of little leaves with a Fiskar's punch and colored them up with Distress inks....Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, Wild Honey, and Vintage Photo.  It's a masculine Birthday so I stayed away from too much bling and ribbon but I had to have some leaves cascading out of the frame and highlighted with a little Diamond Stickles.  The Leaf Gems are from Studio18 that I found last year in the clearance bin.  The patterned papers are both from 2 separate Fall Stacks from DCWV.

Here it is opened up.  The Sentiment stamp is from TPC Studios "Autumn Harvest", the mat is another from the Elegant Edges cartridge cut just a little bigger than the front and I used another stamp from the Inkadinkado set to watermark the center circle (Antique linen Distress).  I really wish I had some photo equipment to take better pictures....the colors here are not as rich as the original and you can't see the detail in the rust patterned paper.....Oh well, don't do that much photography to warrant spending the money!  Autumn Blessings!

My second entry for Mojo Monday #257!

I wanted sparkle, color and glitter!  I got but the old saying "All that glitters is not Gold" is absolutely true.  Alas it is not the card I saw in my head...I think I should have stayed with just 3 colors...perhaps the red, gold and a cream.  It's not perfect but I know someone who would love to have it anyway so it's not a wasted effort....won't win any awards though!  Not that I have ever won any.............

The red paper is Christmas Swirl Red from "Reminisce", the matted pattern paper is a double sided paper from "Little Yellow Bicycle" called 25 days...I used both sides!  The gold is Shiny Gold from "Express Yourself Creatively" and the green is from the Shimmer Pack from DCWV.

Here's my entry for Mojo Monday #257

I am not totally happy with it, I loved the background paper.....a picture of hydrangea so I decided to make some blooms to go on the card, but I think they may have been "Too Much"...too late now!  This card is for my Besty Brenda, she is having issues in her life and it's Birthday time for her, hence the double sentiment.

I used a lot of different stuff just making the little blossoms, cut petals out with my Cricut (Giant Flowers) using white copying paper (Staples) since I wanted them flexible.  then I used a leaf stamp from Inkadinkado to add the veins and colored them up with Copics.  I used a small sun punch that I got from a Scrapping show in Boise that has no Company name on it to make the centers, cut to the center...bunched with a scoring tool and rolled with tweezers.  Can't go into the entire process or no one will ever get through the reading!!!!

The stamps are from Verve, the cardstock is Bazzil's Basic (Spring Breeze and Wild Pansy) and some from The Paper Company (light Lavender and Black).  The Hydrangea paper is from off the rack at JoAnn's and I can't find the company name.

I used my new set of Spellbinder's dies, "Moroccon Accents" for the border and doily, and QuicKutz nesting flowers for scalloped circle.....and an embossing folder from Cuttlebug.  The ribbon that you can hardly see is from Offray.

Inks.....Ranger Distress Inks in Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Black Soot, and Antique Linen.

And here's a little Advertising, I got the "hang in there" stamp for free from Verve.  They always put a little stamp in the order as a Thank You.....very classy of you Julee!  That's all for now...stay happy.

It's been awhile since I've added anything, the last 3 years have really been trying.  For those of you who don't know me...in September of 2009 I had a lung infection that wiped out all but 30% of my lungs and am now on disability and oxygen, then lost my Mom 2 months later to Pancreatic Cancer.  In March of 2010, I lost my daughter.  She was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 2 1/2 years and we fought with and for her until she was finally certified cured in 2003 (11 years).  Her cause of death is still unknown, general consensus was an electrolyte imbalance due to dehydration.  I used to think I could get some closure if I just knew for sure why she is no longer with me, but have come to the conclusion that I just am having a hard time with having that hole in my heart, no matter the whys or wherefores.  She was 3 months shy of her 21st Birthday.  This past June I lost my sister to a rare form of Brain Cancer.  Losing loved ones is a part of life and I have lost quite a few people that were dear to my heart and have managed to work through it, but I struggle everyday with the loss of my Daughter.

I saw a card on one of my midnight forays into the blogosphere, that was centered mainly on texture.  I really liked it so I thought I would try it myself.  I started out with plain black and white CS and hauled out the embossing folders and chose these three to use (all 3 are from Sizzix) and then sponged on Ranger's Distress Ink (Spun Sugar) to pop it out.  I used black CS for the Spellbinder's Floral Doily die, cut out the circle with my Cricut used some more Spun Sugar Ink.  The sentiment is from Verve's "Circular Sayings" set and the little black gems are from Studio G.  I put it together and thought it needed a little more and had found these little ribbon flowers in the sewing section of JoAnns, the little ribbon leaves are some scraps I had, I think it is from Offray.

I hadn't gotten anything posted for awhile because I had to tear down my little photo area and didn't get it back up until today.  I have crafted quite a few cards but didn't get them photographed and now they are gone but I managed to make some more and got pictures taken of them so I will be posting some more this week.
